My opinion about my blog and model have strengthened enormously!

Writing this blog has changed my life, deepened my practice and readied me for a real mindfulness group. After a year facilitating a small group in Cottage Grove, NAMI offered a large room in Eugene to start another.
.
Yes, I still believed my healing model worked, was quicker and easier than anything around, however my experience online did not give constant samples of lives being changed.
.
After a month with a new group, two individuals have altered their lives drastically.
.
The second week of group I viewed change, nervous systems slowing, hope springing forth. Two were practicing daily, applying awareness, letting go.
.
When I hear questions like, Is this real, am I actually healing, improving, I smile. What will this look like when I am healed?
.
Now, it was my turn to share and calm them, illuminating the landscape ahead, it will look the same externally.
.
Change is from the inside.
.
It does not take months to bring change to the mind and life.
.
It takes awareness of each breath, thought and judgment.
.
It takes letting go and accepting.
.
Thoughts are air without action.
.
.
.
What they once served now they see as a mirage.
.
This is enormous in their life.
.
Maybe yours also.

The Physical Breath,,, Bring awareness to life’s immediate necessity air

image

.
.
The inhale takes the majority of energy needed to breathe.
.
Inhaling needs the chest to expand and that takes strength and effort.
.
Muscles have to contract to accommodate oxygen.
.
Notice what happens physically, visually when we inhale deeply.
.
Focus, feel your lungs expand, fill up, and then hold this energy, life force.
.
.
The first pause has a feeling of pressure wanting to be released.
.
The deeper we breathe, the more pressure we create.
.
.
The exhale takes little energy.
.
It feels as the inhale created all the pressure (energy) needed to exhale.
.
The exhale feels like a release valve on a tire.
.
Tension, worry, and doubt can flow out in the exhale also.
.
The chest and lungs return to resting.
.
We inflate the chest and lungs and then return them back to resting, simple.
.
.
The last pause allows the bad air to clear and the breath to have balance, flow, symmetry, rhythm.
.
.
The most immediate, most powerful life force, the breath.
.
Take a closer, deeper look.

T. S. Elliot,,,,,,, Effort and Attitude!!!!d

“For us, there is only the trying.

.
The rest is not our business.”

.
I love this, so simple, so powerful, so bare.
.
.
We are responsible for two things, effort and attitude.
.
.
Results are way, way, way, way above our pay grade.
.
.
Relax then, strive to live fully with all out effort.
.
.
Why think when you can live?

The greatest strength

lies

not by defeating

But by giving,

Not by showing weakness

but letting power fade,

Not by thinking

But by accepting,

Not by judging

But by forgiving,

Not by going fast

But slowing down.

Not for me

But for thee.

Updated: “Surrender Practice”

*
Want to improve, deepen, heal, find some happy, then action is needed.
*
*
Meditation uses “Acceptance” to let go, opening the “Mindful” building.
*
*
Surrendering accesses the elevator to the 10,000 floors.
*
*
Visualize opening your arms out as far as possible to each side of you.
*
*
Your heart has become a butterfly net for the next ten minutes.
*
*
Every emotion, judgment, thought, doubt, worry or utterance is caught gently, without resistance, a space void of judgment, ownership, thought.
*
*
Each thought is gently caught, a breath blown through it, all of them fade in our surrendering space.
*
*
Practice surrendering like this to deepen your spiritual space, to enhance healing, to make happiness a daily companion.
*
*
Happiness does not appear by happenstance or chance, it is cultivated with intention, focus and behavior.
*
*
We have to clear the field of weeds, of rocks, of debris to grow our crop.
.
.
Happy is earned, accomplished by daily training, simple practices of acceptance then surrender.

Updated: Permanent things: a personal example without thought!

Unbeknownst to me, a special bond, a permanent welding of spirits happened without any thought, knowledge or clue from me.

Having been released from rehab, still recovering from Guillian Beret’s paralysis and destruction of my peripheral nerves, my one month old grandson sat in my lap every morning.

It was all I could do physically for a while. It gave Brighton a secure, elevated place to get acquainted with his two loud siblings.

In the midst of this delicate dance, I became male caregiver.

Our communication can be expressed in a glance, a look, a feeling, a grin or joyous laughter.

It is called attachment in its purest form.

Buddhists describe a parents love for a child as close to real happiness as a lay person experiences.

This bond endures and dominates all other desires I covet.

He is special in a way I can not describe with words.

Thoughts or words had nothing to do with its inception or present existence.

I can feel his presence without visual input, sense his security and safety without thought, instantly.

In a crisis late one evening in the emergency room, Doctors lectured us how we misread him being in danger.

They informed us he was fine, maybe five per cent dehydrated.

We over reacted.

I voiced my concern that they were completely off, he was severely dehydrated and his life force was compromised.

They kind of laughed at this grandpa, till labs came back.

Within the hour, we were in ICU.

I can feel his life force.
