It is a calm unification that occurs when the mind is profoundly undistracted.

Samadhi is the beautiful state of an undistracted mind, described in the Pali texts as “internally steadied, composed, unified, and concentrated.

These four qualities indicate that samadhi is not merely focused on a single object.

It is a state of profound serenity that encompasses a balanced, joyful composure, expressing the natural settledness of undistracted awareness.

My two cents: Shaila Catherine’s book seems so much more immediate and essential now.

Focus enables us to be aware and nothing changes without awareness.

  1. I can concentrate ok, what really throws me off is just the change in routine, especially my husband being home all day when he is normally at work.

  3. Oh my, made me laugh.

    Oh yes having your mate around more take a different kind of concentration.

    We have to not concentrate on the aggravation, the lack of private time.

    I used to have quiet time when school was in. My meditation time was right after the three of them left for school.

    Now they are here all day. No quiet time to even to meditate.

    We have to concentrate on our breath and rlet go of that “he is aggravating the hell out of me thought”

    Your challenge is to remain calm and let go, over and over.
