Approaching Daily Activities with Tenderness

“Notice your attitude as you perform daily activities.

Do you perform self-care and household chores with a sense of tension or harshness, demanding efficiency and perfection?

Do you act harshly toward yourself as you brush your teeth, scrubbing them really hard?

Do you walk from place to place pounding your feet on the ground?

As you notice, practice kindness and tenderness with yourself and the activity, softening and letting go of tension.”
.
.

My two cents:   In this moment, right now,  I accept all of me.

I shower myself with inner peace, loving kindness, approval and calm.

I strive to love all of me everyday and often.

This is uncanny. I was doing this this very morning as I emptied the dishwasher and as I cleaned my daughter’s room. I was observing how gentle I could be which forced me to be more present in the moment which allowed me to be more gentle, ie aware. It felt good actually. It usually does when we practice mindfulness, even during mundane tasks. Another great post Marty.

  2. Thanks

Recently from stress and the suicide I have resorted back to not being aware

My gratitude and giving and purpose have taken a hit also

    I see it now

I think that’s completely normal, especially given your circumstances. I’ve lost awareness with far less stress. I hope things settle again Marty.

  4. I have come to believe serious childhood trauma needs constant vigilance. Our patterns began before the mind developed and intertwined with is development.

I 5iught I was totally healed at one time. That is not the case but with awareness and my practice I can still find peace.

If you are looking at healing as being easy, you will be disappointed

  5. gentle call
    to inner
    peace 🙂
