The sad and simple truth is that the collection of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors associated with chronic people pleasing,

which were originally intended to bring you love and a sense of safe connection, often result in the opposite.

If you’re a veteran of chronic people pleasing, you may be so exhausted that you avoid other people so you won’t be triggered to work hard to please them.

If you’ve given again and again and have received little recognition for this, you may avoid other people for fear of getting hurt again.
