It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise,
trouble or hard work.


It means to be in the midst of those things


and still be calm in your heart.

My two cents: My connotation of being at peace, connects peace with happiness.


I believe we need to fully experience our emotions, I mean the negative, heavy, scary ones also.


Our trying to escape confused, awkward, worried and scary situations immediately sentences us to suffer.


Confused, worried and scary will grow and eliminate our chance for happiness.


Our intent is to feel the emotion completely, then release it by focusing on the breath and now.


An easy exercise is to pick an object to draw, study it visually for a minute, then turn away, drawing it with as much detail as possible.


How much detail did you remember?


Being in the present moment, means seeing, smelling, tasting and hearing without thought added.
