Doing the daily Work

As I work with people suffering from depression, anxiety or PTSD, many erroneous judgments are obvious.
.
.
Some believe triggers are dangerous, others think that talking about their past traumas is the path to healing, while others think healing almost impossible.
.
.
A Trigger, an event that fires our fight or flight mechanism, is an opportunity to heal, not a place to fear or avoid.
.
.
Recently while meditating with a client, he interrupted with a concerned feeling of fear and resistance.
.
.
Remember when PTSD fires, certain parts of the mind are off line, causing confusion, panic and fear. We feel great power and harm are close to the explosion inside us.
.
.
I asked him, why does sitting focused on the breath for a mere eight minutes so upset the “Ego’s” control of our organism? It takes time for the awareness of no real danger is present, to arrive.
.
.
This is the critical moment where we decide to keep suffering, fearing the consequences of our trauma or we focus and observe the body sensations in this present moment.
.
.
When PTSD explodes into our scariest panic mode, it is also at its weakest most vulnerable position.
.
.
As I witness another courageous soul,  face his fear by observing his body sensations, his healing has been accelerated.
.
.
It is like a miracle for those living in fear, in survival mode, closed off from living life.
.
.

To experience life without the constant bombardment of thoughts, judgments and emotions seems miraculous.  Also absent are worry, doubt, guilt and fear.

.

If we need an emotion to grasp try joy, empathy, gratitude, hope or love.

.
It takes action to heal, action towards your fear, your trauma, your judgments.
.
.
Practice, practice, practice.

  1. wonderful!
    the same advice
    from a zen master 🙂

  2. Healing can arrive early when we use our mindfulness practice like a laser.
Thoughts, judgments, worry, doubt and fear can fade quickly and lose power when we discover our inner world..

This is the same journey towards wellbeing and happiness.

    Thanks for the gratitude smilecam.

We are not in competition but we share this journey with others.
