Walt Whitman quote

.

.

We should never entertain or utter anything negative about ourselves.

.

.

Our mind is programmed simply by repetitive behavior.

.

.

Let negative emotions flow on through gently.

.

.

In this moment, right now, I accept all of me.

Kindness can occur from the unexpected.

Today I was preparing for my surgery tomorrow, by running errands completing my “to do” list.

I decided to treat myself to Sushi before my run to Winco.

I was seated next to a man whom I never made eye contact with, or held any conversation. It so happened we were a the register to pay at the same time. He motioned to the cashier that he was going to pay for my lunch.

I was taken aback, stunned by his “sudden act of kindness” out of no where. A smile filled my face and I thanked him for is kindness, and expressed my gratitude, touching his shoulder mentioning my upcoming surgery. He wished me well.

I’m still bathed in the feeling of gratitude and only wish I had gotten his name.

Any concerns I had about tomorrow have been replaced by this smile and this act of kindness.

    So powerful!
