Focus your attention on the movement of the breath.
.
.
As you breathe in, feel that you are breathing pure, subtle Consciousness.
.
.
With each exhalation, feel that you are breathing out your thoughts.
.
.
At the end of the in-breath, notice the place where the breath dissolves in the region of the heart.
.
.
Focus gently in that space, not straining or forcing yourself to hold your breath, but simply noticing the space when it occurs.
.
.
In the same way, focus on the place at the end of the exhalation where the breath dissolves outside the body.
.
.
Sometimes as you practice this dharana, you will find that the inner and outer space become one.
.
.
You realize that your body is no longer a barrier between inside and outside.
.
.
You can simply rest in that space.
.
.
As you become more and more centered in the space between breaths, imagine an opening at the end of the exhalation.
.
.
You may visualize it as a doorway, or simply feel it as an open space.
.
.
Enter that opening.
.
.
It is not your body that enters it, but yourself as awareness, as attention.
.
.
Hold your awareness in the space you sense there, even as the breath continues to flow in and out naturally.
.
.
You are not holding your breath.
.
.
You are simply letting yourself rest in the space at the end of the exhalation.
.
