The cognitive engine (our Ego) want to go fast, supersonic, handle complex ideas, calculations, issues.
.
.
If he/she gets his/her way meditation is fruitless, a barrage of thoughts, opinions and judgments.
.
.
Our minds daily habit reflects this lack of awareness, lack of ever being empty, ever going slow, ever being present.
.
.
We have trained our mind to live on autopilot, to go fast, to race, to be full of thought connected with emotion.
.
.
Our goal is to train it to slow down, let go, empty, and be present.
.
.
Many minutes are wasted as we sit focused on the breath with thoughts pouring in.
.
.
The ego resists going real slow, following a simple inhale, pause, exhale, pause, our breath.
.
.
It is foreign to our mind to be with an inhale or exhale and the pauses in between.
.
.
It seems a mundane waste of time, a powerless exercise in futility.
.
.
The ego wants you to believe this judgment or it loses control.
.
.
It takes daily persistence, and a plan to achieve emptiness.
.
.
It is simple not easy.
.
.
The rewards are greater than any other endeavor you will undertake.
