Gratitude seems to be short changed.

We spend less time and invest less energy in finding things to be grateful for.

Sporting a litany of unfulfilled or fulfilled desires brings loss, sadness and eventually suffering.

All the sages trumpet the importance of altruism, loving kindness in our pursuit of a happy existence.

.
Make a spreadsheet of desires on one side and grateful things on the other side.
.
.
Nothing is set in stone and maybe this awareness will direct your expansion of gratitude.
