Who am “I”?

image
.
.
.
I am not my thoughts, judgements, possessions, title, status, position or ego.
.
.
“I” is created from past memory, current assessment of how we are treated by society and what “I” think of myself, all rolled into a living narrative.
.
.
The more “I” is dormant, the freer life becomes.
.
.
Notice when strong emotion arrives in our consciousness, our ego is front and center, in control.
.
.
Feeling resentment, anger, jealousy or any strong emotion signals our ego’s discontent.
.
.
The ego wants to occupy all of our waking time.
.
.
He/She is in control when we judge or entertain negative emotion.
.
.
If you feel any negativity about yourself, let it go, it is a mirage, a judgment.
.
.
If we do not establish time during the day, empty of thought, suffering will be a companion.
.
.
When things go wrong, despair the likely alternative.

  1. Interestingly enough, I have always struggled with this concept of “I” and the ego but they way you have written it here in this post clicked a switch for me. I think I’ve got it. Thank you.

  2. Your welcome and thank you for sharing
