How Mindfulness Steadies Awareness by Linda Graham!

.
.
“As we practice becoming mindful of various objects — the breath, a pain in the knee, a memory of a cousin, a worry about aging — we become aware of awareness itself.
.
.
We notice, and we notice that we are noticing.
.
.
With practice in mindfulness, our awareness steadies.
.
.
We can readily notice when we’re “awake” and when we’re not, when we’re present and engaged and when we’re not.
.
.
This awareness of being aware helps us feel safe while we begin to notice patterns through our mindfulness.
.
.
As James Baraz, the cofounder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in the San Francisco Bay Area, points out,
.
.
“That which is aware of fear is not itself afraid” — or sad, angry, or overwhelmed.
.
.
Once we can perceive difficult patterns without anxiety,
.
.
we can work to rewire them.
.
.
No matter what experience is arising in the mind,
.
.
when we remain steady in awareness,
.
.
we’re not upset or retraumatized.”

  1. Nice 😊

Why you use all the dots for? 😇

  2. I use the dots to separate sentences. WordPress will run everything together.

We read words, lots of them and go quickly.

Some words or ideas need a little more time to settle in.

Mindfulness is a doing practice, reading or taking a class does nothing spirtually for you.

This post conveys a process that needs to be experienced not read.

I try to use words to describe what has no,words or judgments.

This post took me two years of sitting five hours everyday to accomplish.

The dots are a way of trying to communicate that.

If we would read less and take action on something we deem vital, life changes.

    Reading changes nothing.

    Thoughts are air without action.

My goal is not to attract views but inspire you or entice you to take action.

My blogs purpose is not to be popular or gain awards, but to help people taking action to heal or,pursue happiness.

Having a 100 views or 500 views or 100,000 views everyday brings no more happiness to my life.

Having one take action from my writing does bring happiness, in fact my effort brings happiness, results are external and above my pay grade.

Marty i am here to tell you. Sitting with your breath is so sweet and simply that at the start i thought you were nuts. but i was desperate to change. I followed thru and i am here to tell you. I am doing things i never thought i would do. I am sleeping but. I was driving down the freeway and not having a panic attack. My agoraphobia is improving and i am feeling freedom. I feel this inner peace i never thought possible. some days i think oh my i need to hurry do something and get that panic feeling. Then i stop and say no that is your ego. You need to breath. Thank you so very much for teaching me how to save my life and the future of my children.

  4. inspires the insights
