Want to improve, deepen, heal, find some happy, then action is needed.
*
*
Meditation uses “Acceptance” to let go, opening the “Mindful” building.
*
*
Surrendering accesses the elevator to the 10,000 floors.
*
*
Visualize opening your arms out as far as possible to each side of you.
*
*
Your heart has become a butterfly net for the next ten minutes.
*
*
Every emotion, judgment, thought, doubt, worry or utterance is caught gently, without resistance, a space void of judgment, ownership, thought.
*
*
Each thought is gently caught, a breath blown through it, all of them fade in our surrendering space.
*
*
Practice surrendering like this to deepen your spiritual space, to enhance healing, to make happiness a daily companion.
*
*
Happiness does not appear by happenstance or chance, it is cultivated with intention, focus and behavior.
*
*
We have to clear the field of weeds, of rocks, of debris to grow our crop.
.
.
Happy is earned, accomplished by daily training, simple practices of acceptance then surrender.

  1. As I read my own posts, I have become aware of how action oriented my mindfulness practice has morphed into.

What were once thoughts are now real, I have a real mindfulness group, am going to present my mindfulness group to the local VA, with names of chaplains and officers in the next two weeks, I carry a bag of apples in case I run across any homeless, I am a member of NAMI national alliance of mental illness, I am a real volunteer now.

Actions have grown until my thoughts can not be seen, heard or cared about.

By taking action larger portions of my existence are spent in this present moment

It is accumulative, habitual and gains momentum and skill benefit as days pass and application strengthens.

This is so beautiful and moving. You are gifted. Your pain and suffering has brought you to a place where you can open your heart and expressing in a loving way how to reach that mindful state, happiness.

  3. Gifted

Well that is a judgment,, if that has some credence it is where you may not have looked.
    .
My gifts are simple, my skill also lacks sophistication is its basic simplicity,.
    .
As a child my fathers sport of choice was baseball, I was tasked with being twice as good as everyone else. I was slow, could not jump that well, mediocre could be a good description of my physical talent.

Baseball though has a place called hitting which is hand eye coordination, it is a skill of extreme focus, extreme short periods of time are nvovled, compressed, magnified.

It is focus concentrated on a exterior object, a baseball, thrown upwards of 100 hundred miles an hour, giving the batter a milli second to commit then swing and hit the thing.

It happens in less than a second. Astounding how much effort is placed on this task. Those who fail two out of three times are rewarded with a multimillion dollar contracts and called one of the best hitters in baseball. Oh your batting average would be over .300 a huge success.

So my talent is taking that focus and turning it inward using the breath as object.p, and then applying my willpower until I made it habit.

My gift is that when I decide to do something, it will receive an amazing amount of effort without frustration or want to stop any pressure. It is a journey.
    .
My skill, talent and focus are simple but very strong, very resilient and not easily disturbed now.

Life happens when you focus on letting go, and as the proverb goes be patient until the mud settles and the water clears and the answer arrives.

Patience, releasing desire takes a little longer but well, worth it..
    .
My gift is being able to repeat a simple skill, like following the breath, being empty, over and over without ever being board, but energized and motivated.

    There
Lies my gift, this is pleasure not a task.

A gift? Not judging – my opinion. I also like Mozart, gifted, my opinion, Van Gogh, genius, gifted tormented, my opinion The Beatles, got me through my teen years, my opinion, Metallica, got me through a bad spell, Flowers, beautiful, a fact.

“skill of extreme focus, extreme short periods of time are nvovled, compressed, magnified.”. So many of the skills you have, through good and bad experiences, brought you to here, and the ability to share your method of meditating.

It is obvious your giving is out of pleasure and not a task.

Gifted? Accept the compliment. I’m sure many share the same view/opinion.
