A response to a response on Dissociation!

my statement:
“Dissociation takes us to a place, the past or future where happiness does not exist.”
*
*
“I really do have to disagree wholeheartedly in your claim. If happiness never existed in dissociation then why is it such an attractive coping mechanism. Dissociation can allow all the happiness and bliss in the world and leave negativity behind.”
*
*
*
*
An attractive coping mechanism seems an arbitrary judgment to me.
*
*
Dissociation is not attractive, at all. It is the biggest waste of life we engage in.
*
*
Dissociation is the polar opposite of mindfulness.
*
*
Mindfulness helps light up our left prefrontal cortex the brightest. This is where our positive, joyful emotions live.
*
*
Dissociation fuels depression, PTSD, anxiety , ADHD and many more suffering behaviours.
*
*
Dissociation can create a separate reality, a living hell for you, a place where suffering is incubated.
*
*
Mindfulness is about letting go of dissociation and replacing it with this moment, now, the only time (place) where happiness exists.

  1. Mindfulness could be the association among the different things. 😉

  2. Can’t wrap my mind around this post !!

  3. Help me out, what is confusing or abstract

  4. Happiness only exists in this moment, it is not happening when we are thinking, especially dissociating

Dissociating engages memory, thought etc. not happiness

  5. Marty, I was referring to the amount of thought/enrgy it takes me to be mindful about the post. if i just don’t think about the post, i know i am being mindful.

  6. Well. Thought is fine if it is directed by us

Wandering in thought always gravitates to the negative

Thinking is not bad. We just give thought way to much importance
