Break it down to smaller and smaller pieces.

*
*
*
Give up thinking about healing, being happy, meditating for twenty minutes, having large goals, aspirations.
*
*
Focus only on one breath! This next one.
*
*
This next breath, I can focus intently, slow it down, make it my universe! You can also.
*
*
For one breath I can be empty, letting go of thought and judgment.
*
*
If we can master one breath, we can add another and make it two.
*
*
Even if this is all we do each day, add one focused breath, healing would be accomplished in a couple of months.
*
*
We will not heal or find happiness without action.
*
*
*
Take the big step and act, do, be, participate in life fully.
*
*
Start with that one, initial breath on the journey of your life.

  1. Thank you for making it simple. I needed that. http://lilypupslife.wordpress.com/

  2. The mind changes habit only, when we repetitively apply, simple, immediate concrete tasks.

It is simple because mindfulness/meditation is one breath of letting go, upon the next inhale we travel to the next breath unencumbered.

Life expands when judgment and thought cease for periods of one breath to a million breaths, our choice.

    We make things so complex.

Moving with one breath can change your life

  3. beautifully expressed! thank you. this works!

  4. You described me to a “t”… I am always looking for healing, promise to meditate for 20 minutes or so, and worry about goal setting. I can see why focusing on the breath works: we stay in the now, and as you commented “It is simple because mindfulness/meditation is one breath of letting go, upon the next inhale we travel to the next breath unencumbered.”

Thank you for this very helpful post.
