Emptying the mind, gradually, The consequences.!!!

Mindfulness/Meditation does not exert influence, energy or control, least not have a goal to achieve.
.
Emptying the mind of thought, is not stopping thought, it is withholding attention, the thoughts fade naturally, on their own.
.
Emptying the mind has consequences, as does grasping at judgment and strong emotion.
.
It happens gradually, a glimpse at first, the clouds of confusion, clearing, building a little more longevity with each awareness.
.
Empty, at times, clarity pounded forth, thought had always confused me.
.
I realized how frivolously I filled my mind and mouth with the past, adding strong emotion, creating nothing worthwhile.
.
Life is wasted on trivial, minuscule, unimportant, impermanent thoughts and feelings.
.
Look at how often we think about the past in a day. Instead of being empty and present, we place attention, thought and speech on past events.
.
It must take courage to just be, without trying to add cover, white noise filling our moment to moment existence.
.
Practice emptying the mind, clarity arrives with an edict of wastefulness, confusion and lack of direction.

  1. So emptying the mind is being fully present without attachments or aversions? Can we be empty and yet still engage the mind but in the present?

  2. When we sit, focus and let thoughts fade, the present is all that is left.

Aversions and distractions will always be present, our attention or lack of attention will decide their fate. They will be an integral part of our life or be forgotten.

    Our choice.

  3. Got it. Thanks for the post and clarification. 🙂
