Imagine the ego as a mental hand, an appendage that serves the host. Realize the ego is a golf ball floating in an Olympic swimming pool of the mind in comparison.
The ego is insignificant compared to the mastery of the powerful mind. We created this identity vehicle to distinguish us from others not run our minds with directed thoughts.
-
The ego works tirelessly to bring memories forward to support our literal speech. If we say things like I will never heal from PTSD, then the ego finds the strongest examples of this in our memory and brings it forward. The ego is our judgment machine, the part of the brain that cognitively separates and categorizes stimulus. It compares and files all that we experience.
-
The alternative (mindfulness) allows the ego’s thoughts to flow on through by focusing on the breath. I do know that happiness is found in this moment, only. The solution is easy then.
-
Delegate the mental hand’s(ego) thoughts to the scrap heap. Live life in this moment absent of thought, doubt and worry to be happy, healed or free.
-
Learn to focus on the breath while directing our attention to this present moment. Explore the mind unencumbered by our trauma disorder. We can access this freedom anytime we choose.
-
Set up a daily practice following the breathing track to build focus to be able to heal, be present and enjoy life freely again. Mental action is needed to heal, daily.
