Control of the mind is the large delusion we practice most of our lives. I tried to control my triggers, managing my activity to avoid triggers.
-
Avoidance behavior had the opposite effect. My mind was starting to control me. The more control I exerted the more out of control I became.
-
Acceptance is the path to freedom. When I learned to stay present instead of avoid, life improved. We can not run from our thoughts (mind).
_
The thoughts emanate from our ego, our creation of identity. These thoughts are powerless expressions of control from the ego. It wants to direct our attention, sort of run our life for us. This is the landscape we face.
-
Stop controlling and surrender to your fears (thoughts) today. Set yourself free, today, surrender and see the delusion of thought.

Exactly my experience, your post is wonderful, your voice could be my voice – even if I wouldn´t be able as you to describe … thanks Marty for sharing, very important for me

I never realized how impermanent thoughts and emotions were. Metheny are a small part of our mind, minuscule compared to the expansive right hemisphere.
Mindfulness plugs us into our true self the real power of the mind we can direct.
