How do you heal and stay present, when our warning system is going off, Alerting on past trauma!

Our cognitive skills are delayed four or five seconds, when the amygdala is firing our fight or flight mechanism.

Triggers can startle us before we know what to do or how to react.  Hence, our reactions range from a terrified avoidance to a frozen state of numbness.

What can we do to withstand and observe this adrenal stress reaction?

It has to be simple, concrete, easily learned.   We need to be able to perform this skill, under intense fear and anxious feelings.

*

Daily practice on the The Breathing Track is the easiest way I know to accomplish this task.
