C-PTSD: Living in the Past

PTSD has a symptom called dissociation.  It is when we enter that thought stage of engaging the past trauma.  Thinking about past events that carry large doses of anxiety, prevents us from being happy or present.  It is easy to lose track of time and slip back into victim mode.

Do you know when to quit behavior that ignites your PTSD symptoms.  Are you aware of your body and triggers and how they interact?  Do you keep a journal or keep track in writing?

PTSD is quite resistant to any change.  The more tools and healing practices you can acquire, the better chance of healing.  If we get side tracked with dissociation, our healing gets lost.

Do you think you can heal?  Do you have a plan for daily work.  Do you practice handling your thoughts?  In my opinion your relationship with your thoughts will determine how you heal.
